About Sandra Matke Sandra Matke is an award-winning writer and editor who contributes to magazines, newsletters, books and Web sites on topics ranging from business to beauty. Though Sandra specializes in education and management issues, she has tackled a wide variety of subjects in her years as an editor, including a TV movie about the Unabomber, a book about death row inmates and a tell-all novel about a major Hollywood actor.
Sandra's editorial career began directly following graduation from UCLA, when she worked as a producer's assistant at Adelson Entertainment, a film/TV production company. From there she moved into business writing at an LA real estate firm, then on to high school teaching. Full-time teaching, though incredibly satisfying, was also incredibly draining, so Sandra put that career on hold to delve into writing at Bobit Business Media. There, over the course of three years, Sandra ascended to managing editor of School Bus Fleet magazine, winning nearly two-dozen awards, including Best Feature Story, Best Web Site, Best E-Mail Newsletter and Magazine of the Year. Since that time, Sandra has maintained a successful freelance writing career while working first as Web editor of ProfessionalTeacher.com and then as publications editor for Pasadena City College. She has managed highly successful print and online marketing campaigns and managed the production of newsletters, brochures and catalogs for a variety of clients. Sandra's keen research and writing skills enable her to pen a story with little guidance. When it comes to editing, Sandra can't help herself. She will edit the menu in front of her at a restaurant. She will not let you publish something that is not up to par. She will kick your butt at Scrabble.
